Over the next month there will be major changes for Amare Luna Scents.

Amare Luna Scents is changing names! While we are away for the summer, we will be finishing up the transformation to become Natural Magic Soaps.

If you would like to add the new journal to your friends list, please feel free.

The new online storefront is scheduled to open in late June. We will be unveiling a variety of new soaps at that time, including some great new scents like Tuscan Herb, Chocolate Mint, Clean, Sweet Pea, Vanilla Latte, Banana Bubblegum, Jeweled Citrus and Crystal Sunshine. We will also be featuring a new line of all natural soaps made with vegetable oils, essential oils, silk proteins, prime pressed cocoa butter and filtered natural unrefined shea butter.

What's special about the filtered natural unrefined shea butter?

Although it has been filtered to remove sediments, shell, rock and other foreign matter which might have gotten incorporated into the butter, this type of shea has not been heated with high temperatures and retains all of the natural oils and vitamins.

The soaps produced with this combination are amazingly moisturizing and leave you feeling like you've just applied lotion!

During our down time, we will be attenting ICE Atlanta on June 18th! We'd love to see you out there.

What is ICE?

~> A craft sale of indie designers and crafters throughout the evening beginning at 8 p.m.

~> A fashion show of indie designers at 11:30 p.m. MC Little Jen promises a good time!

~> Music: dp3 will play before the fashion show. Hope for a Golden Summer will play right after the fashion show followed by Part Time Weekends. DJ KYSA will spin throughout the evening.

~> Art: Art show featuring several local artist including Tracy Wagner, Kelly Teasley and others will be on display throughout the event.

For more information, visit the ICE Atlanta website.

Have a wonderful summer everyone!

Why is it that new soap is always so exciting? I have so many soaps in the works for the summer line, but I went ahead and made a special soap that I've been thinking about for awhile.

It's made with Grapeseed Oil, Soybean Oil, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Sunflower Oil, Shea Butter and Cocoa Butter. The water portion is made up of chamomile tea. Cocoa Butter infused with Chamomile, Vit. E, Lavender EO, Tea Tree Oil, Witchhazel, Aloe and additional glycerin are added after the cook. No color, no fragrance oil. Topped with dried Chamomile buds.

This one is a favorite with me already.

Love the color & consistancy- it's a great soap.

Also finished the Toasted Vanilla. Upped the amount of cocoa for color and did a more drastic swirl this time. Will post pictures probably tomorrow when it's cut.

Thank goodness for sleep. I slept in until about noon yesterday and boy do I feel better!!!

Weekend soaping adventures:

Lemongrass & Sage (picture does NOT do it justice) which I left uncolored. It smells...heavenly. Specks are lemongrass, rose hips, orange peel, lemon peel and chickory root.

Caffeinated Orange Utility Soap. Smells of oranges, kicks the butt of blackheads or kitchen odors.

The Santa Lucia Spa Bar. Ocean water, shea, cocoa, sunflower, aloe. Yum. Light, airy fragrance.

Tons of soaps shipping today. I've printed out some of the e-promos from the ladies on The Switchboards and added them to the orders; hey look great and I know the customers will love the coupons!

Off to make a new batch of toasted vanilla and another of rosemary spice!

Made soap today with Joanne and Lori. It was fun being able to share the process with someone who is interested.

Did a batch of patchuli in a 'martha mold' and then a lemongrass & sage (standard for order filling). Here's the patchuli:

Not one of my favorite scents, but Lori loves it, which makes me think it's great!

The swirly bit doesn't show as well in the photo; it's a really pretty marbled swirl effect.

Not every soap is a joy to make. Some of them kick and scream and fight the entire way to saponification, and then rebel in the mold when you're done.

Here's today's example of good soap gone bad. It's what I'm lovingly calling Votre Cerveau, Avec Du Sel or..'Your brain, With Salt."

</li-cut>

~heavy sigh~ What a waste of Shea and Cocoa butter, not to mention the FO.

I have a ton of orders going out tomorrow! Yay for almost being over the wisdom tooth extraction!

I don't post pictures of most of my MP soaps as 'for sale' on the site so I thought I would share some more here. This is a nice assortment of soaps, some packaged and ready to label. There's a Sweet Cream Butter Bar, some Race Car soaps, a Seahorse Sparkle, a couple Glitter Girl flower ring soaps (they have a ring embedded in them), the Little Green Friends turtles and froggies (which are much greener in person!), a Lux Loofah bar, a bar of Apricot Craze in it's box and a Midnight Rendezvous wrapped up nicely, both awaiting their labels.

Off to finish packing boxes!
